RV-9A Spec

The RV-9A is a tricycle gear low-wing airplane. The airframe is riveted aluminum. The intent is to have a fuel-efficient, rapid and fun cross-country platform. Van’s do offer the classical Lycoming engines. We are considering the Lockwood package for the Rotax 916is, which is fuel-injected and should allow for unprecedented performances for any Van’s aircraft ever built. The expected performance with comparison to Lycoming engine is tabulated below.
